Bisolar Power by Senzune Bisolar Power by Senzune

There are some flaws in this one but not enough to notice for the untrained eye.
Very happy with the results!

Thanks to Boxtail for helping me understand the basics of recursive fractals and some other tips :D

Haha okay ;)

You can recognize there's a 'bar' with the pattern, and to both sides there is the same pattern repeating in ever-smaller bars. |_|____|_|
One of those bars was not properly configured, so it came out much stronger than the other one.
I believe this is the reason for the very sharp bright lines you see here and there, more visible near the brighter golden bars.

There was also an issue with how the pattern was tiled. This is the reason why the smaller bars appear to be black, while they should have had the same pattern of the larger bars.
This issue appears because of the way the bars are scaled - each bar is 25% the size of the previous bar, both in the x-axis as the y-axis. This smaller y-axis also results in a smaller range of pixels to be rendered.
Or more accurately, this causes these pixels to have a lower chance of being calculated.

oh... okay, i actually thought the problem were the bars themselves as it appears that instead of "melting" with the rest of the pattern they seem to be tacked onto the pattern itself.

Usually fractals have very smooth transitions and the few very specific angles they have are only very acute ones, possibly 0° ones as the angles tend to be zeroes in the function, and zeroes rarely make obtuse angles or non 0° angles, usually they are simple π fractions. Whereas the spirals join onto the bars with evidently obtuse angles that did not seem any simple π fraction, so it did not seem to have the proper angle for a fractal.

Only i could not say that because it is evident that the pattern itself (with the bands and all), is part of the fractals as it gets used constantly.

So i thought the problem might have been one of aliasing in the rendering. As in: a "depth" aliasing of the kind that usually gets solved via anisotropic sampling... as the finer patterns do tend to seem to give a repeating impression due to aliasing and so on... but that would not make sense as that kind of aliasing usually is *sought* for in fractal representation as it is usually seen "aesthetically pleasing", unlike most other rendering processes in which it is actively avoided...

...and so i was completely wrong. 😅

Good to know. 👍

It's a fractal, a pattern that repeats infinitely :)
Made with Apophysis and Chaotica ;)
